Imago Oiseaux

Quail are rambunctious poultry. They are small, about the size of a bantam chick that is about 6 weeks old. They are smaller than pigeons too. I have not developed a favorite breed of quail, although I am looking into buying Cortix. Bobwhites are wilder and not a domesticated pet. Button quail are sweet, but are a little too small in my opinion. Cortix are a good multipurpose bird.

If everything goes as is scheduled and I can find a breeder I hope to have quail by July. Their pen is already created, I don't have pictures though, and it is large enough for five to eight quail. They really don't require that much space. Cortix can have just one cubic foot to be happy. The pigeon loft and quail pen are side by side in the chicken coop. I try to keep all of the cages centralized so that in stormy or unpreffered weather, I only have to visit one building to feed up everyone.
